I know I'm bothering the devil out of you guys the last few days and I apologize for that but my main computer died a few days ago and I'm having to set up a temporary system to fill the gap.
When I click Send, the spell check box pops up as it always has but every field in it is blank and no misspelled word is highlighted in the body of the mail as usual.
I just installed it and had to - just in case you didn't try it- to select the language before I could use spell check.
If you already did that I apologize and in that case a re-install may be appropriate?
Wow. As much as I muck around with my computers, wiped clean, reinstalled from scratch, I must have installed Thunderbird a hundred times and I've never had to touch downloading dictionaries, ever.
Please, if you haven't done so already, mark this thread as solved.
