Hi,

On my laptop when it is turned on XP boots up to the login screen.
But the touchpad and keyboard don't respond to any commands.
I can't get into the Bios because the keyboard doesn't work. Even a mouse
connected via the usb won't work.
Caps lock doesn't eluminate once pressed either?
Does it sound terminal?

Thanks,

Graeme.

Hi,
They are USB with no ps2 connections.
Though they were working but just stopped after a restart/ turn on.

remove the AC Cord
Remove the battery
and leave it for a couple of mins
hold down the power button for 10secs

see if that resets the laptop at all

I disconnected the battery and removed the power supply cable.
Then kept my finger on the on button for at least 10 secs.
On the first restart the keyboard appeared to start working as the up/down cursors
allowed chice of boot up.
I chose normal.
When it got to log on the touchpad didn't work.
Then rebooting again the keyboard is not working. Even after the power down I did earlier.

repeat the procedure again
power cord
battery
