    I have a batch file that runs a certain program many times, and I want to know if there's a command out there that can time just how long it takes to run the program each time.

    thanks for any help

    How about a batch job that looks like this:

    Echo >c:\timing.txt
    :loop
    echo START>>c:\timing.txt
    echo.|time >>c:\timing.txt
    <program to time>
    echo FINISH >>c:\timing.txt
    echo.|time >>c:\timing.txt
    goto loop

    That is how I run all my scripts on my Linux server. All my output starts with a TimeStamp and ends with a TimeStamp. Easiest solution if you ask me.
