Each time I open outlook 2007, I receive the following message "To free up disk space, Outlook Express can compact messages. This may take upto a few minutes".

I do not use outlook express.

Can someone advise why this is happening and how I can stop this message from appearing when outlook starts.

    Thank you

Can you post a screen shot showing the message and enough of the Outlook screen to see that it is in deed Outlook that is open?

Do not get angry with me here, but I know of several people who thought that they were running Outlook, when in fact that it was Outlook Express. This message should NOT appear at all when using Outlook.
