    Hi all,

I've got a little bit of a dilemma here, I've got a 3.5year old Dell 8300 with the following specs:

    3GHz P4
    1GB Ram
    X700 Pro
225W PSU (or thats what i suspect)
Ive got a standard PCI slot.

The issue is whether to replace whole thing and get Kentfield extreme with 8800GTX obviously spend will be around £1800 for base unit or to replace graphics card (and probably PSU) and wait for Yorkfield chips later in the year, which are expected to be cheaper to produce with more speed and lower power consumption. It's just id like to play some games even with minimal detail during the year (well except Crysis which would give my system processor failure just at the sight of the box).

What would people recommend and on graphics card front what replacement would offer best value for money given my system.

    Many Thanks

not clear, do you have AGP slot, I'd assume the X700 is your gfx card, maybe

ah ok looks like 8x agp slot, in that case a nice BFG apg card could probably take you for a stretch longer, kind of up to your budget.

I've checked spec and graphics card is AGP, i got confused.

So given my specs what would be a suitable graphics card? As I only want to spend up to £100 and I dont want a card which would be overly constrained by old components.
