SpywareBlaster 3.4 http://majorgeeks.com/download2859.html
SpyBot V1.4 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2471.html
AdAware SE 1.06 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html
MS AntiSpy - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...A8BD-DBF62EDA9671&displaylang=en&Hash=RDXMHB6 (XP and W2K only)

DL them (they are free), install them, check each for their
definition updates
and then run AdAware and Spybot, fixing anything
they say.

In SpywareBlaster - Always enable all protection after updates
In SpyBot - After an update run immunize

Do these and reboot before the next step.

Then get HiJack This V1.99.1 http://thespykiller.co.uk/files/hijackthis_sfx.exe - double click the DL file and click unzip letting it extract to its default folder C:\Program FIles\HiJackThis, run it from there, DO NOT fix anything, post the log here.

I don't see SpyBot - did you get AdAware

Fix these with HJT – mark them, close IE, click fix checked

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://search.qsrch.com/

F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [StatBar] C:\Program Files\Globe Software\StatBar\StatBar.exe

START – RUN – type in %temp% OK - Edit – Select all – File – Delete
Delete everything in the C:\Windows\Temp folder or C:\WINNT\temp
Empty the recycle bin
Boot and post a new log

Please give feedback on what worked/didn’t work and the current status of your system

I did get both and ran them and fixed the problems it found. When I go into %temp% it keeps telling me that some of the files are in use by another person or program(Im not on a network). Should I do it in safemode? Also do I want to make sure one of the programs you had me d/l is always running in the back grd?

Thank you so much for the help.
