    Hi,

I have the toshiba 1 tb harddrive that has not been working for a while now. It worked fine for a while but then for some reason it just got stuck. I have tried everything I could, have formatted it multiple times but it is just too slow to use. It works once in a while but most of the time I get an error everytime I try to back anything up. I also have problems opening files already on the hard drive or copying them on my computer. Basically this hard drive right now is worthless and I hope you can help me out.

    Thank you

In windows explorer, right click the drive and select properties. Navigate to the tools tab and select "check now." I would select both "automatically fix file system errors" and "scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors." This will check the hard drive for errors and try to fix them.

You *might* want to check the SMART status of the drive. Also, check the cables.

What do you mean by SMART status?

Could you post these areas of SMART in here?

    Reallocated Sectors
    Temperature
    Pending Sectors
    Zone Errors

It may say the drive is "fine", but this will give us more information.
