My used Toshiba Tecra 8100 laptop did not come with an external 3.5 Floppy disc reader,so I bought one on eBay. It is the correct one PA2669U, which connects to an external port on the left side. However, the connecting cable end is too large to connect to the port on my computer. There is no number on the short cable, only the letters HRS or HR5. Is there an adapter to get to plug into my computer or must I get a new cable, but what number or item would I ask for? Any suggestions? Thanks, Bill
Is there a Toshiba Board which might be more appropriate?

    I'd go directly to Toshiba.

Toshiba list the following part numbers:

    TECRA8000FD for the internal floppy [£39+VAT ]
TECRA8000FDC for the caddy which the internal drive fits in if you use it externally and dont want to remove the CD-Rom [£15+VAT ]
