I am a Englishman (Artist) living in small rural French village, very litte Tech assistance.
I have a Toshiba Folio 100 Tablet. Details in Toshiba = Application version 1-1-3. Android version 2-2-5 0026. Kernel version 2-6 3295E-1ET1. Build no. Folio and A50131. serial no xA020716R.
I have been informed that this model is discontiued.
It will pick up my email on wifi.
I am able to store pictures of my paintings, that have been transfered from a usb stick.
But I can not download or connect direct to a computer.
Is there any way or soft ware that will able this model to accept apps and downloads.
I have seen on Google that it needs to be Rooted (what this means I have no idea or how to do this)??
I have tried contacting Toshiba by Email to no avail?????
If anybody would offer me help or guidance on this I would be very grateful.
Please remember I am no Tech Buff keep advice simple (child like)

"Rooted" means that the BIOS/firmware/OS need to be hacked or altered. I wouldn't recommend it, but it's likely possible.
