touch pad erratic

    when I am working on a page, the page keeps shooting to the bottom and I can't make it stay where I want it.Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2

    Let me back off a minute. I interpreted that whatever page you are working on immediately jumps to the bottom and no way can you get it to stay on another part of the page even for a couple seconds. The "standard" way to try to clear a stuck key is to carefully pop it off, get rid of any crumbs and the like, and reinsert it. I've done this with no trouble on more than one standalone keyboard, but never on a laptop and I'm not at all sure that this technique is recommended there. Do a web search for confirmation before trying on a laptop.

    If, however, the page will stay put for awhile and then suddenly jump to the bottom as you are typing I'd suspect that you are inadvertently touching the touchpad. Maybe there is a "scroll bar" on the left and/or right side of it. In Control Panel - Mouse - look for various settings that could modify this behavior. On laptops in the last several years there is generally a switch or key combination to disable the touchpad, which you could use to test.
