    Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.4
    OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64 bit
    Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 250u Processor, AMD64 Family 16 Model 6 Stepping 2
    Processor Count: 2
    RAM: 3835 Mb
    Graphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200, 256 Mb
    Hard Drives: C: 921 GB (827 GB Free);
    Motherboard: Dell Inc., 0DPRF9
    Antivirus: Avast Antivirus, Enabled and Update

    I recently updated the driver - AMD ATI Mobility Radeon for Dell desktop. While I don't really use the touch screen except a tap to log on, I just want to make sure not having that feature isn't a problem for the system. Thanks.

    Yes 2305- I am all set now. I received an answer that the driver update probably got rid of the touchscreen function. Since I don't really use it, that's ok. I just wanted to make sure it is not having a negative impact on the system. Thanks.

    OK, It shouldn't do that but it is possible the driver did that. Supposed to fix

    This is what the person said about the effect of the new driver: For what I know (I may be wrong) win 7 doesn't have native support for touch screen.
    Your Dell probably had a touch screen driver that was replaced with the update you did.

    Native support new term to me. At any rate, I am going to leave it as it is with the new driver and move on. Thanks very much.

    No native support just means the driver isn't installed when Windows 7 is installed, so it has to be installed later.
