A few weeks ago someone on here helped me adjust the settings on my Elan touchpad for my Asus Intel Pentium 64-bit laptop. I thought that had solved the hypersensitivity issue but have since realized it's as bad as ever. I already have it set to the lowest possible sensitivity setting. I also had my computer do an automatic search for up-to-date Elan keypad drivers but it said I've got the latest. Can anyone help?

What model Asus laptop is it ? Should be on a label underneath, please post the full details.

Also what version of Windows are you running and is it 32 or 64 bit ?

    It's model X44 L, and it's 64-bit.

All right well I've tried installing the new drivers but that hasn't seemed to help. I'm wondering if this could be a hardware issue due to not-so-careful handling (which I have since been more mindful of). I probably need a new laptop.

Unless anyone has any other suggestions.

There may be a key combination that will deactivate the touchpad, probably the Fn key + one of the F keys, so try that as a workaround.
