I have a Sony Vaio and the touchpad and buttons just stopped working out of nowhere. Any idea what I can do to fix this? Maybe reinstall drivers? But from where? I didn't change anything; it happened totally randomly! Right now I have an external mouse hooked up and it's a pain! Please help.

It only came with a restore CD.
I checked Sony's website and can't seem to find the drivers. If anyone can PLEASE help I would be SOOO appreciative. I need this laptop for my schooling and this is stressing me out.
    It's a model PCG-7R2L if that helps.

I don't know if this website allows this...but if it does: I will send $35 via Paypal to the first person who gets my touchpad working!

Are you sure there is not a key combination that turns off the keypad? Look in your manual and see.

Yes, I'm using a separate mouse right now and it works fine.

No key combination to shut it off that I know of or can find.

Many touchpads have a switch to turn off/on. Look in your manual, or look in Control Panel under mouse or touchpad for controls.

You do realize, don't you, that when a separate mouse is attached to the laptop the touch pad is disabled?////////

Yeah, I used to be able to use my wired mouse at the same time as the touchpad. I have, however, tried unplugging it and restarting, etc..no banana!
