Hi. I've been getting these messages whenever I run a scan with my AntiVir. TR/Drop.FunWeb.A...Joke/SmallPen.A....TR/Dldr.Avis.1.....TR/Drop.Small.NK

What on earth are these?? The message I get after the computer tells me that I have them is that they are in some files and can't be fixed, and basically that they are there to stay..too bad so sad.

My computer is a Dell with IE 6.0, oh, and with WindowsME.

Viruses. Great. Ok. I have Spybot. I've updated and scanned with it and it says I have nothing going on in my computer. I did have the new adaware installed but I uninstalled it, as every time I tried to do a scan it would shut down my whole computer. The only time it scanned was the day that I installed it. After that...nada. Even in safe mode. Shut down.

I will do the scan tomorrow with the panda and housecall as you suggested. I'll also post the HJT log tomorrow as well. Not tonite, as it's almost 1 am and I have to be up at 7 tomorrow with the kids. Thanx. See ya in the am. Nite nite.

Computer won't even take me to the panda site. The blue loading bar at the bottom of the page only goes 1/2 way and then stops, no matter how many times I try to get there. About HJT. It's different than the last time I used it. When I click on the page it asks me a bunch of things what to do....do a system scan and save logfile...do a system scan only...as well as 4 other options. Which one should I press?? Thanx. I don't like to guess and then, oops..bzzz wrong.

Hello Honey2aB! :D

Open Internet Explorer and at the top click on "Tools" and choose "Internet Options". Click on the "Advanced" tab and untick "Enable third-party browser extensions". Click on "Apply" then "OK".

Run HijackThis and fix the following entries:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://mysearchnow.com/searchbar.html

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/cus...://my.yahoo.com

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/cus...rch/search.html

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ares] "C:\PROGRAM FILES\ARES\ARES.EXE" -h

O16 - DPF: {1D4DB7D2-6EC9-47A3-BD87-1E41684E07BB} - http://ak.imgfarm.com/images/nocach...etup1.0.0.6.cab

O16 - DPF: {C4925E65-7A1E-11D2-8BB4-00A0C9CC72C3} (Virtools WebPlayer Class) - http://a532.g.akamai.net/f/532/6712...5/Installer.exe

Download SpywareBlaster from here:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=2859&file=11&evp=61b0e8ad41924a03c37615f4682b4cef

Install and run SpywareBlaster. Click on "Updates" and then choose "Check for updates". Next choose "Protection" and at the top you will see different tabs which are Internet Explorer, Restricted sites and Mozilla/Firefox. Choose one of them at a time and at the bottom click "Protect Against Checked Items" (make sure that all of the items are checked). Tick the boxes above the items. Make sure you do this for all of the top tabs. Mozilla/Firefox you only need to do if you have the user profiles on your computer. You may now exit out of SpywareBlaster.

Download CWShredder from here:
http://cwshredder.net/bin/CWSInstall.exe

Install and run CWShredder. Click on "Check for Update" and download the latest updates. Next, click on "Fix". Exit out of CWShredder.

Restart your computer and post a fresh HijackThis log back on this thread.

Ok. Did all of the above...except...when I went to CWShredder, checked for updates, and then pressed "download the update". It asked where to put download so..I put it in my download file, opened it, then sent it to microsoft word...seeing as it asked where I wanted the file sent. When it went to word all what I'm looking at is a HUGE page of alien writing. What is that? I've actually never come across a file that looks like that. What do I do with it? Thanx

I was wondering about a few things on here......
04 [AVGCtrl] Is that for AVG antivirus? If yes, I don't have it anymore.
09 AOL instant messenger.....Don't have AOL at all
016 (Housecall Control) from Trend Micro...Don't have that on my computer, just did a check like it was suggested to me, does it automatically stay on there?
I have a few more questions, but I'll let you deal with this HJT log first. Thanx :)
