hi. I have a large file (smthing like 1 g more) that I need to send someone over the internet. is a folder that contains pictures documents. I was wondering if there is any free software or free web to transfer something easely over the net. I don't mind about the security because the thing itself is not really important. any ideas guys?

Here are a couple you can try. Just found last night that BT have a free service starting with 1GB limit going up to more if you are already a BT broadband customer.
With this one you can upload the files separately as a folder isn't a single file. Or you can zip/compress the files (select all the files, right click, send to, compressed folder). This creates a 'zipped' folder which you can upload as 1 single file.

YouSendIt use to be really good. They use to allow up to 1gb files on their free service. So you may have to zip up the directory into several other small files and send them.

Another option would be to start a shared Xdrive account. You can keep up to 5gb's of files on their free service.

i've tried all those and even I have a 1 mb connection, when I upload anything(pictures, whatever) they'll upload five percent of my speed almost all the time and go full speed every 15 sec for one sec to make me happy. So what I really need is a software that allows me to connect straight with my friend and share full speed any file with, if connection is stopped, possibility to restart the upload from the point we left(xdrive and this webs they can't do that, I realised just when I upload about the 20 percent and then, connection failed and had to upload all again) please any ideas?

Is your 1mb the upload speed? Remember, most broadband connections have a much faster download speed than the upload speed. My account is 15mbit/2mbit up/down, so it takes longer to send stuff. :)

Even with a 1mbit upload link, a 1gig file will take you close to three hours to upload, that's a lot of data.
