I have two gmail accounts. Let's call them gmail1 and gmail2. Which is the easiest way to transfer an entire label (with all emails in it) from gmail1 to gmail2?

if you have a client on the PC - I would connect to the two gmail accounts using IMAP
and then you can just copy the folder (as it will be seen in the client program) to the other account

by having as imap - then that new folder should be created and the emails copied to the other gmail account as labels

Please be more specific, as I am not a technology geek. "A client on the PC"? Like what for example? And what then? Can I have a step-by-step procedure to make the transfer? Thanks.

    sorry
a client is a program on the PC that connects to your email server on the Web
So the program would be something like

    Windows Live mail
    Thunderbird
    outlook

what version of windows do you have

you would then install the program - quite straight forward
setup the account settings to point to gmail email accounts - quite straight forward and google help has step by step examples how to do that - BUT with the modern programs , usually all you need to do is put in your email address and password and it automatically setups the account usually by IMAP

so once these two accounts are setup up on the client program Windows live mail or thunderbird
    you simply copy the folder

do you think this is something you would want to do
if so then we need a little more info and I can go through in more detail

So what windows version are you running ?

then we can see whats the best program to download -OR you may already have a mail program installed

OK, thank you. I have Windows 7. I only had WLM as email client, which was recently discontinued and frozen. In fact, apart from transferring labels from Gmail1 to Gmail2, I also want to transfer contacts from WLM to Gmail1, and looking at WLM's settings, I couldn't find any way to do either. So if you can give me a step-by-step procedure (or link) to do either or both, I would be much obliged.

    for contacts on WLM

    open WLM and goto contacts
goto the export menu item on the top ribbon
choose CSV - Comma Separated Values

    NOW
    goto the gmail account
top left click on gmail arrow
    and select contacts
click on the more button in the middle of the screen
    Import
Browse to the location you saved the exported file from WLM

all your contacts should import into the gmail account

Yes, this is how I managed to transfer my contacts a few days ago. But I still want to know how I can transfer entire labels from my Gmail1 to my Gmail2 account.

As I said, transferring of contacts is done. Your advice on this is absolutely correct. It just came a bit late, and that is not your fault. Now my problem is transferring of labels.

My WLM is frozen. I don't have Thunderbird, but I have read that I can transfer the Gmail labels, through it. Is this what you are suggesting?
