Hello. Okay so a while ago when i got my current computer i transferred all my files from the old one to the new one and roughly 90% of mp3's and videos worked, im pretty sure all my mp3's worked but not all my videos worked, it keeps coming up like

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."

**edit** but then when i click on the more information and so on it doesnt direct me anywhere useful it just says the codec im trying to install isnt working.

but on the old computer i used to watch them on windows media player, whats goin on ?

It might help if we knew ...

The format (AVI, MOV, MPEG, WMV , etc.) of the video files that will not play.

The version of Windows Media Player being used.

The version of Windows you are runnig.
