How do I recover the photos on my HP laptop that were downloaded from my Samsung smart phone. Where would they be located?

Please don't beat and curse me: Windows XP
How dare you!

Just kidding. The fact that you know you should try to move to another OS is enough for me. :)

Anyway, it depends on how you went about downloading the photos from your phone.

Did you use a piece of software to extract the photos from your phone and place them somewhere on your computer? Did you manually copy them somewhere on your computer?

Imported them from the a Samsung phone camera to folder in Photo Gallery. Gave the folder a name. Downloaded 1945 pictures. When we opened the folder in photo gallery only approximately 260 pictures were in the folder. The pictures that were in the folder were the oldest pictures on the phone. The pictures taken in the last 3 weeks, the most recent, were not there.

I'd rather use my XP than my new W7 Computer .... M$ keeps ripping out all the good tools.
Anyway, have you done a search for any jpg to see if they show up anywhere ???

It's possible as Noyb suggested that they are elsewhere on the computer and can be found through a search.

Alternatively something could have gone wrong with the download - I suggest trying the download again and putting all the photos into a new folder. If something happens again, then we know it's a consistent problem.

Thanks for your help. We hit search and jpeg, but the pix still did not show up. Although the laptop was indicating it downloaded all 1900 pix, we are still unable to locate 1600 of them. But I do appreciate your willingness to help.

Have you tried downloading the photos again since the original download?
