I am running XP home w\ IE 6; some hypertext links now cause a new browser to open w\ a completely transparent text area, & blank address bar. The links that do this make no "click" sound when clicked on.

I can right click some of these links, go to propeties, paste the address into the browser & get there, the addresses are valid.

    Try this:

Go to Start > Run, type regsvr32 urlmon.dll and click OK.

You ought to get a "DllRegisterServer in Urlmon.dll succeeded" dialogue box.

Reboot, and check whether the problem is gone.

    Cheers,
