    Hi

my daughters computer is infected with a trojan, we have run various scanners such as spybot, a squared, adaware, house call and she has avast anti virus installed. The trojan has been dectected by avast and house call and has been deleted, this was yesterday, but again as I type avast is flashing up saying trojans have been detected and I keep deleting them.

Her browser has also been hijacked by something called webcry and I have no idea how to stop this.

Here is a copy of the hijack this log file

    Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1

    Please can you help us?

I meant to add, something called privacy protection keeps taking over the desk top, the whole screen goes red andbecomes a link to some website that wants you to download stuff to clean your computer. The only way to remove it from the desktop is to go into customize desktop and delete it from there but it keeps coming back.

    :(

Please if any one could have a quick look at my hijackthis log, the browser is still hijacked by webcry and we are still getting avast popping up with detected malware.

I have told my daughter not to use her computer until we get it sorted, so if somebody could help that would be great :)

    Hi and welcome to TSG,

    Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)

Extract (unzip) the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
    http://www.beyondlogic.org/consulting/proc...processutil.htm

Warning: Do not run Option #2 until you are instructed to do so. Running option #2 on a non infected computer will remove your Desktop background.
