I'm running bitdefender 9 professional plus and it keeps telling me that various files (all located in driver folders) have been attacked by this virus, but not infected, however, it cannot remove the virus. When I run a scan it tells me the files are in fact infected, and that it cannot disinfect them.

I tried running lavasoft ad-aware, however, it freezes when it encounters the first of these driver files. Attached is a log file from Hijack-this.

Thank you in advance for you help.

Try a different AV application - a free one can be downloaded from www.grisoft.com. Or you can go to www.symantec.com and run their online virus scanner. The online scanner won't clean anything for you, but at least you will know if it's just a "false positive" from BitDefender.

According to symantec's online scanner its there. Along with that as I am typing this I'm getting a warning from Bitdefender that...
windows\system32\dllcache\calc.exe is infected with the virus "[email protected]

If BitDefender won't/can't clean it, try downloading the AVG - it will clean the virus.
