Hello, I've found a trojan on my pc, and normally do not have to much trouble getting rid of these things. This one has me lost though. When I to head into safe mode to begin removing the problem files the pc just reboots. It will boot normally into windows. So after a few days I'm back to where i started. I can't find the root, I cannot remove it either.

Here is the hijack this scan:

Run HJT again and put a check in the following:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {8e76b606-8ab3-4ab6-8d2d-be14e52e9c1a} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\MSCCTL.dll
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: MSCCTL - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSCCTL.dll

Close all applications and browser windows before you click "fix checked".

Click Here and download Killbox and save it to your desktop.

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.
Put a tick by Delete on Reboot.
In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste the following:

    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSCCTL.dll

Click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter the file name.
It will ask for confimation to delete the file.
    Click Yes.
It will ask if you want to reboot now,
    Click Yes.

Note: It is possible that Killbox will tell you that the file does not exist.

If your computer does not restart automatically then please restart it manually.
If you get an error message "PendingFileRenameOperations Registry Data has been Removed by External Process!" message then just restart manually.

Ok, i downloaded Killbox, and saved it to desktop. I went to run it and got an error saying killbox is not a valid win32 application.

Further, since the time I originally posted I believe I got rid of mscctl.dll (I believe i can thank AVG anti spyware for that one). The problem still persists with slow pc performance, and the computer rebooting when I try to get into safe mode. That is obviously still a problem..

Click Start - Run - and type in:

    services.msc

    Click OK.

    In the services window find:

    VundoFix Service (VundoFixSvc)

Right click and choose "Properties". On the "General" tab under "Service Status" click the "Stop" button to stop the service. Beside "Startup Type" in the dropdown menu select "Disabled". Click Apply then OK.
    Exit the Services utility.

    Ok, that is done.

I noticed this time around when trying to boot into safe mode an error box. Unfortunately the computer reboots to quickly for me to read what it is actually saying. The pc seems a little better, but when I am doing anything other than browsing you really notice the slow down.

    Any other thoughts?

You could look in event viewer and try to discover what the error is. Control Panel, admin tools is where you will find event viewer.
