trojan killer

    hello
    i am having trouble with trojans. does anybody know of good programs besides moo soft to help me rid them?
    it expired and now i have several, again
    please help

    hi again
    i cannot seem to stay online long enough to resolve the problem.
    i have an antivirus program but need something to clean the trojans out. i did try moo soft for 30 days but now i need another temp cleaner.

    Try the Tauscan program if you can get it.

    We can also spot and give manual cleaning instructions for most trojans if you can post a copy of the StartUp.log which is created when you run the Startlog.com file from Reticulated Toys

    Download and run StartLog.com. If you need an unzipped version, click on the ONLY IE link at the very bottom of the Toys page.

    Copy/paste the full contents of the Startup.log file to a reply. Ignore the stubpaths.txt file

    This program only runs on Win95/98/ME -- so if you have any other OS, ignore the above.

    thanks but i'm running xp
    but its a mess
    i have been carefual and scanning and updating
    my virus scanner did not pick up these trojans
    a verion of my firewall did
    i'll get back to you if i find an answer

    You can download Swat It trojan scanner at www.lockdowncorp.com Its free and works well for me.

    hi
    thanks for all the help here. i am scanning at the moment but have not found it yet. i went thru my firewall program and it found th trojans but i needed software to clean it. it is in the port 5000. i will let you know if this works.

    havent found anything yet but this is what my firewall scanner said,

    Bubbel, Back Door Setup, Sockets de Troie

    if you know anything about these would you let me know

    I think your firewall is just telling you that those are trojans that listen on that port -- not necessarily that you actually have them. There are legitimate programs that use port 5000 also -- in fact for WinXP it will normally be used by the Universal Plug n Play program as explained in the thread tpb posted

    thanks so much
    i had scanned and found nothing this time but last night i had recieved an e-mail 11 times. a pal who sent it said that i may have a virus and then my machine was running unstabile
    i have had trouble a while back and have been checking updates daily and scanning for viruses
