I'm not sure if I did this right or not but I finally got to a place where I can send a message, so here goes. PC-cillin detected a virus TROJ-NETBUS.170. Trendmicro has been attempting to help me but after 2 weeks, I am not much further along. They did give me a list of things to do to disable system restore. Then said to restart the comnputer in safe mode. That is where I'm afraid to go as I need to know if the taskbar is available in safe mode along with help button etc. and PC-cillin button available. Apparently I need to run the virus scan in the safe mode to delete all the infected files. Do I click delete in the pc-cillin someplace to delete the files - - - -On the trend micro page on the ionternet it says something different. It says open Task manager. I don't even know what that is much less how to open it. It also discusses a malware file. Don't know what that is either. Any advice would be helpful keeping in mind that just signing on to this tech support site was a real effort. I hope this message gets to someone. In case it does - Thanks a million.

Hi, and welcome to the board.

A trojan isn't hard to get rid of, providing you know where to look.

Please do this:

Go to http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads.php#startup , and download 'Startuplist'.

Unzip, doubleclick it, and it will generate a text file that will list all running processes, all applications that are loaded automatically when you start Windows, and more.

Go to Edit > select all, copy it and post the contents here.

About Safe Mode, yes, everything you mentioned is available there. It just looks funny... :p
