Hi, jennxxness :)

Welcome to the forum.

Before we continue, do you recognize these programs?

C:\Program Files\MonKeyBar
C:\Program Files\SRS Labs
C:\Program Files\SearchNineBand
C:\Program Files\Rainlendar2
C:\Program Files\LiveSearchPro

I am sure LiveSearchPro is Adware.

Hi, jennxxness :)

I am going to try to move these suspicious programs to a folder that I will create in your C:\ folder. I will label this folder, Suspicious.

Download the enclosed folder and extract its contents to the desktop.. It contains a batch file, Suspicious.bat. We will run this file in Safe Mode.

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O2 - BHO: OTSI Class - {85CC6BFF-5A5C-4A76-8FC8-DB0787DF1597} - C:\PROGRA~1\MONKEY~1\OTS.dll
O3 - Toolbar: LiveSearchPro - {4D5025F3-F3DA-4300-B598-D45D37ADA74C} - C:\Program Files\LiveSearchPro\LiveSearchPro.DLL
O3 - Toolbar: ¸uA°3 - {E74BC74F-F470-4AD7-9FB4-1A4170A06082} - C:\PROGRA~1\MONKEY~1\OTWiz.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WMSRC] C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\siratic.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [screensave] "C:\Program Files\MonKeyBar\scrsave.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [overtoolsupdate] "C:\Program Files\MonKeyBar\write.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [LiveSearchPro] C:\Program Files\LiveSearchPro\activebrz.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Cass Oxyion] C:\WINDOWS\wizonbm.exe
wizonbm.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Alcmtr] ALCMTR.EXE
O6 - HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbars\Restrictions present
O23 - Service: Remote Storage (Rmtstrg) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\taskmgr.exe (file missing)

Now close all windows and browsers, other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked.

Close Hijackthis.

Go to Start->Run, type CMD and click Ok. The MSDOS window will be displayed. At the prompt type the following and press Enter after each line:

SC Stop Rmtstrg
SC Delete Rmtstrg
Exit

Reboot into safe mode.

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Doubleclick the Suspicious.bat file to run it. The MSDOS Windows will flash for a few minutes. That is normal.

Please go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following (if present):

MonKeyBar
SearchNineBand
LiveSearchPro

Please note any other programs that you dont recognize in that list in your next response

Using Windows Explorer (to get there right-click your Start button and go to "Explore"), please delete these folders (if present):

C:\Program Files\MonKeyBar
C:\Program Files\SearchNineBand
C:\Program Files\LiveSearchPro

Using Windows Explorer (to get there right-click your Start button and go to "Explore"), please delete these files (if present):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\taskmgr.exe
C:\WINDOWS\wizonbm.exe

Restart the computer.

Go to Start -> My Computer. Select your Hard drive C:\. Locate the folder C:\Suspicious and click on it to open it. If the folders MonKeyBar, SearchNineBand and LiveSearchPro are present in that folder, go back a level and right click on the Suspicious folder and select Send to -> Compressed folder. That will create a Suspicious.zip folder.

Please go here:
The Spy Killer Forum
  • Click on "New Topic"
  • Put your name, e-mail address, and this as the title: "C:\Suspicious.zip"
  • Put a link to this thread in the description box.
  • Then next to the file box, at the bottom, click the browse button, then navigate to this file:
    • C:\Suspicious.zip
  • Click Open.
  • Click Post.

Make sure the folder is uploaded. Once done delete both, the Suspicious and the suspicious.zip folders.

Rescan with Hijackthis and post a fresh log. Let me know how it went?

Hi, jennxxness :)

I missed that one, sorry. It is enclosed herein, but if you already removed the following folders, never mind about it. I needed to collect these folders to submit to anti-malware program's developers.

C:\Program Files\MonKeyBar
C:\Program Files\SearchNineBand
C:\Program Files\LiveSearchPro
