Trouble Installing Norton

I need help installing Norton 2001 on my ME operating system I place the CD into the CD drive and autorun begins I can start the installation and then it just disappears off the screen the installation process is gone and it never installs. Can anyone out there tell me what is happening. Oh yes buy the way I running all this on a emachine computer. Help!!!!!!

Insert the cd into the CDROM Drive, once the cd autoruns, select Browse/Explore the CD. Then look for a folder by name Nav9xme. Look for a file setup.exe, double click the file to start the installation. If that doesnt help, copy the entire Nav9xme folder to your harddisk and try the installation.

Did you have any other antivirus installed before trying to install Norton?
Maybe it might help to unistall your antivirus and then try installing your Norton 2001.
I don't know if that will help or not.

ALWAYS close other programs running in the background(except Explorer and Systray) before you install or uninstall any program. This greatly reduces the chance of anything interfering with or aborting the process.

That's very strange behavior indeed, and it could be that you're infected with a virus such as the all new Yaha.k worm.

It wrecks antivirus programs for a living.

Before installing anything at all, first run an online scan at Trend Micro HouseCall or Panda Active Scan
