I just built a desktop gaming computer today.

everything seemed to worked perfect, except when I tried to install the OS. I have the windows vista ultimate x64 I got from an iso. I burnt it and set the IDE dvd burner I have to boot first. I turned on the comp with the vista dvd inside and it went to the vista installation stuff. During it is installing, it freezes on me when im about 30% through "expanding files". The entire screen is frozen, I can't operate my mouse. I am forced to manually reboot after 10 minutes of waiting for something to happen. after that, I get a "Bootmgr missing press ctrl alt del to reboot" and I do it, and it keeps on coming up. I also tried to set the hdd to boot first, still.

    Can anyone help?

Have you tried more than once?

If not try again - Set boot from cd first, try installing again and format the HDD during setup.

Where did you get the Vista DVD? It could be faulty.

If its a hardware problem someone else would be in a better position to help.

maybe the ISO you made had a bad sector or something try install from a different disk, or buy a real one

Closed for reasons stated. Illegal software and P2P, a double play! :(
