I have xp pro and I cant see part of the help screens. I click on help and support. Then under pick a topic I can't see the topics unless I put my mouse on them and then I get a shadowed version of what it says. It is almost like the text was changed to white. I have no problems seeing anything else. Any ideas?

If you need to reinstall Help and support

From:
Google Groups
Please perform the following steps to reinstall Help and Support Center:

Step I: End the Help and Support services if they run in the background.

1. Click Start, click Run and type "taskmgr"(without quotes). Click OK.
This opens Task Manager.

2. Click the Process tab. Stop all of the following processing if running:

helpsvc.exe
helphost.exe
helpctr.exe

Step II: Reinstall Help and Support:

1. Click Start, click Run and type "cmd" (without quotes). Click OK. This
opens Command Prompt.

2. In Command Prompt, type the following command lines: (Press Enter after
each
line.)

net stop helpsvc

cd /d %windir%\pchealth\helpctr

rd packagestore /s /q

rd installedskus /s /q

cd binaries

start /w helpsvc /svchost netsvcs /regserver /install

start /w helpsvc /register

Note: The “start /w helpsvc /svchost netsvcs /regserver /install?command
line
reinstalls Help and Support, which may take several minutes.

If above steps does not resolve this issue, please perform the following
steps to repair IE:

1. Press Start and choose Run.
2. Type in cmd.exe and press OK.
3. In the command line, type the following command: (Please note the Space
and Caps Lock.)

rundll32.exe setupapi, InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132
c:\windows\inf\ie.inf

4. Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM when you are prompted.

I haven't done the above yet. I have been busy and started to fix a network problem and clicked the network wizard and the link on that was white on a gray background so I think I need to know how to change links back to the default color. This is not a problem on internet explorer.

I tried doing this and I don't know if it worked or not. Here is my question. Is there a way to change the background color for help and support services. The background is white. I logged off of me and logged onto my wife and her links are all there because her background color is blue.
