I am having trouble with my boot.
Desktop is totally blank once I get past the Logon Screen which I pass by and/or enter User & Password.
Error Message Pops Up - Explorer; Illegal Operation: Details scripts Invalid Page Fault in Module EXPLORER.EXE at 167:00401f31.
Continues with Registers, but I need to understand what I am looking at and what I can do to remedy.
My PC is unusable right now.
Please offer advice if there is any other than buying a New PC.
I have an iMAC, but adore my dinosaur DELL with W98SE.
    Thx.

Prior problems with DELL Inspiron with W98SE led me to suggestion from DELL Support to enter an alternative Product Key to enable me to proceed on ReInstall of O/S.
Tonight I have Blank Desktop resulting after initial boot prompted me to re-enter Product Key once again, but I entered Original Product Key instead of DELL supplied/suggested alternative.
How do I get to Product Key entry screen to attempt to enter DELL suggested PK ?
Will this even help me ?
I am looking for any quirky way to get me PC usable again.
    Please give me some guidance.
    Thx.
