Basically, every time I try to reset/restore/refresh, the end result is a black screen with a mouse cursor. Logging in works fine, though it didn't before I ran some virus, malware, and adware scans. I just can't seem to get any of the clean slate features to work. Any idea what might cause this?

General system info in the attachments.

just as an fyi, a lot of us are at work when using this site. As a result, I know I cannot see the pics you posted as I've blocked the site imgur at work. Any chance you can upload them just into this site?

Alright, I updated the post with attachments instead. I may have cut them down a bit much in resizing, though the information should all still be there.
