    Hi,
What do you mean by "unpacking"? I thought it came on cd/dvd?

Is the disk scratched in any way?
Can you use someone elses disk with success?..if so this would point to the disk as being the problem.
How long have you waited out being stuck on 22 percent?....these are never linear and can jump several points at any time.
Is the machine capable of 7...enough ram etc?

These are the 5 stages that you will see during the install of Windows 7:

    Copying Windows files

    Expanding Windows files

    Installing features

    Installing updates

    Completing installation

    There is no "unpacking" stage.

Are you using an actual Windows 7 DVD or are trying to "unpack" an .ISO file or some other file?
