Tungsten E loses charge

My boss has a Tungsten E Palm that will lose its charge within 24-48. He is generally not using it other than to double check dates or get info.

Is this a known problem with that model? The unit is about 6 months old and was a gift at a professional development session.

Could it be a problem with programs that are loaded onto the palm? There is a program that was installed for the training, HandDBase 3.
