turning the computer off

    should i turn the computer off when not in use?

    i do if i am away from 2-3 hrs , and definately at bedtime .....some leave there`s on all the time but windows needs a boot-up now and then .......

    There are pros and cons with respect to heating/cooling, power etc.

    The key concern these days is if you have a always on connection, i.e. cable/dsl, then you must have a firewall and lock it down when not in use or shut down.
