Have a friend who got hit on her Apple Laptop with a Ransomware attack.

I know how to find Defender on my own Win10 PC but am pretty lost trying to find my "Control Panel" on an Apple!

Can somebody point me in the direction thanks so I can go check the settings?

Apple's computers do not run Windows. Apple uses its own signature operating system, which since 2001 has been derived from Unix and known as OS X.

The equivalent of Control Panel or Settings on Mac OS is called System Preferences which is accessible on the Apple menu at the top left or on the Dock at the bottom of the screen.
Mac OS does not come with any AV products but there are plenty of products available to install, and yes there is malware that will run on mac os!
