Hi guys,
I recently went onthe "Tweak 3D website, and tried to download Tweak UI just to see what it can do. But when I try to install it I get a message to "insert the Tweak UI disk" and I eventually fail to do it. Is it worth having anyway ? and if so, any ideas how to go about it ?.

Also, I read on one of your recommended web pages that "RunDll32.exe" should be in the start menu, but alas it's not there. Nor is it under any of the run sections of the registry. It is actually in start up as the first few lines of "Load Power Profile" is this it ???.

I hope I'm not being a pain asking all this stuff but this is a really helpful board, and for me in particular, long overdue. Cheers,
Gus.

It's been a while since I've installed Tweakui but I do remember it's normal to get that message due to the original desgn of Tweakui. It was designed to be installed from the Windows CD. But if I'm not mistaken, Tweakui installed anyway even when you get the message. Before you do anthing else, first check on the ControlPanel for a Tweakui icon and let us know if you see it. It's most likely already there and ready to be used.

As far as Rundll32.exe I'm not sure where you read that but Rundll32.exe may or may not be in startup. Rundll32.exe in and of itself does nothing. It's a Windows component that's called to launch other Windows programs such as the example you mentioned with LoadPowerProfile. Anyway, your fine like you are, there's nothing to worry about.

Gus,

Regarding TweakUI, it does install a bit differently from other programs:

Download it.
Doubleclick TweakUI.exe.
4 Files are unpacked to a folder you specify.
Find the file TweakUI.inf, and RIGHTclick it.
Choose 'install' from the context menu.

Subsequently you'll find TweakUI in Control Panel.

Good luck,

I dont know guys, I did what you said and it just says the file "Tweakui.cnt on tweak UI" cannot be found. It is actually a zip file, So I extract the Inf file to my desktop and then right click to install but it wont do it. It asks for the disk.

Now when I start up my pc I get this message ( See attached file) . I'm not really too put out if I cant install it, it was just a thought. If it cant be installed how do I get rid of that reminder on start up.???
