To save money, I'd like to dump my land line phone and DSL for cellular service. But I need to have at least two phones with the same number (upstairs and downstairs). Is this possible? What sort of hardware would be needed besides the phones themselves?

You can't have 2 cell phones with the same number. You could get a Google Voice number and have it ring both phones when people call it.

DOABLE!!! its a trick, go to an electronics store (radioshack has them), and get a bluetooth home phone system, it will come with 2-4 phones (depending on model) that will all work through your cell phones bluetooth, it thinks its connected to a bt headset, the phones act like any old house phone. DONE :)
