I believe that i may have used some tweak accidentally to remove all types url's at shutdown. Now I can't find the program that I did it with. I want to reactivate saving typed url's. I'm hoping it's in the registry somewhere. XP home SP2. Anyone know where this setting could be ?

Do you happen to use any other anti-spyware or cleaner program like Window Cleaner? These types of programs will also delete history.

nope on the other software that could delete it. my history is completely in tact, that's not the issue, it's just the typed url's in the address bar of msie 6. they clear out every reboot.

You may download tweakui xp from the following link:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Install the application. Now go to control panel and chose 'other control panel options' (if you are using the category view). Start the tweakui applet.
Now on the left panel click on 'explorer'. On the right side panel deactivate 'clear document history on exit'.
