I have a Dell Inspiron 600 M with XPpro sp3. No matter which software I am using, the cruser will often disapear from the line I am typing and appear in another word somewhere in my text a line or two b(it just jumped to the am on the second line above) ack. This is very frustrating and it takes a lot of time correcting the text if not noticed right away.

Is it possible that you are touching the touch pad while you type and this causes the cursor to jump to another place (this is the same as pressing with the mouse on another place on the screen while typing) ?

Is so try to cancel the "Tap tp click" option or something like that, I can't give exact instruction since I don't have this laptop.

I'm having the same problem with new laptop and will take care not to tap touch pad if that is the problem. My laptop is an HP with Windows Vista. I do hope this will solve an aggravating problem  Thanks
