    Un-CRACKing SoftimageXSI

I've been given a copy of Softimage so that I can study it at home in preparation for a Saturday class. (As far as I know it's not illegal.) Anyway, I can't get it installed.

Install.txt in the Crack1 file informs me of the following:

" 1. type lmulil lmhostid in the command prompt

    2. start the keygen, type in your pc name and on of the hostid's u got with lmutil before

    3. the license will be generated, start your license server with help of flexlm.cpl (u can point to the license, lmgrd.exe and a log file here), it's kinda self explaning

    4. set your lm_license_file variable to [email protected]_name " [sic]

I don't know what any of this means. I know Windows and Word and that's where it ends Imshamedtosay. If somebody could explain to me step by step, I'd be grateful.

It seems to me there are certain details missing or I need to understand what certain things are and how to use them (ie: lmulil, keygen, flexlm.cpl, etc. etc), but basically I'm a blank slate. Gotta start somewhere, right?
