    Presentation1.jpg Hi guys,

i am facing a problem here is it details,

I am unable to delete some folders which are on my desktop. while deleting it is showing a message
"Could not find this item" "This is no longer Located in C:\Users\Misbah\Desktop. Verify the items location and try again".

how to delete these folders. They are empty folders. let me tell you one thing that these folders were created by camtasia studio softwares. I was using this software and made a folder through this software but after closing the camtasia i am unable to delete them.

Please help me how to delete them because i have lots of similar folders on my desktop. i cant even rename them or move them.

Hiya and welcome to tech support guy :)

Normally, when this message appears, the option to remove them is given. However, in your case this isn't happening. What happens if you right click on the folder, and drag it to the recycle bin, and let go? Normally an option appears to say, in bold, move here. That way, you can delete them that way.

    Thanks

    Eddie

Are all the other folders that you have on the desktop related to the same program, camtasia? I think you said before they were. Also, just to double check, but you created the folders whilst in the program?
If so, what happens if you start it camtasia up and click on file |save as, and navigate to your desktop. Then, find one of the folders you created, and right click on it and select delete?
Sometimes it may need the program to be running before it can remove them.
So, try to delete in the program, no need to save anything.

have you refreshed the desktop to see if it disappears? On the desktop, hit F5.

When Windows doesn't allow me to remove, delete, or erase something, I boot up a linux live USB stick. I find the file in linux and delete it. When I reboot into Windows, it is gone.

I've tried software called: Move on Boot (also used to delete not just move), Who Lock Me, and Unlocker. none of which could eliminate the file.
