Yes the problem is common to both web browsers I had downloaded this "MicrosoftFixit.wu.Run" but it itself is effected by this problem too!

If using a router, have you ever tried bypassing it?

If I recall correctly, you were using Copper HiSpeed on account of your slow dial-up connection?

    Ever tried a download manager?

Good memory but they told me i was limited to no more then 10 hours a day, so I sent them packing. We apparently have different opinions of what unlimited means.I have regular dial up but I did get a new modem an Agere PCI 56 k V.92. It was in before these problems occurred, so I don't think this is the problem!

    With dial-up, I'd try a download manager.

Did just that, It found 47 updates I will see how well this works. I' didn't know about these download managers besides the one that came with the Microsoft setup. Hopefully this will be a good addition thanks for the tip.

Tried to update latest version of Anti Mal-ware no dice. Microsoft Fix it came up with this error when I tried to run it. Fix it troubleshooting cannot continue because an error occurred.Still not loading web pages very well took about a half dozen reboots to get this screen to open the page to post this, Have run the with all the reboots haven't had it up long enough to run a full scan of anti V or anti Mal-ware, but will try to let it run over night...what's left of it!

We're sorry but the program encountered an error trying to contact the server. Please try again later. [ Code 80072EE2].
I get this error every time! what is error code 80072EE2?
While chasing this error I came across this:Right click the 'My computer' icon on the desktop
    Select 'Properties'
    Select 'Hardware' tab
    Select 'Device Manager'
Select 'Network Adapters' by clicking the '+' sign
Right click the adapter connecting the pc to the home lan or gateway router
    Select 'Uninstall'
    Reboot

Although I don't have a router or home lan could this have something to do with the MP4 balloon issuean adapter issue. My browser loading pages could be connected as well I'm guessing.

Ok I think I just solved part of the problem, it's amazing what you can do when you apply yourself. I went to internet options clicked on settings.A box popped up and clicked on properties. A new box opened, clicked on the "options"tab. on that page there is a box that says "Idle time before hanging up" It said 20 minutes, I know from experience that it should read never. So I believe that will fix the browsing issue it seems to have for now. But the other issues still exist!

OK here is where this is at. The browse tabs in firefox take forever to load or open. The download manager works on some but I have malware bytes and it has an update button built into the program. It wont update from there. Microsoft essentials is the same way too. I'm downloading a new version of firefox now and it's not going through the free download manager. I'm not sure why the selectiveness of its choices when downloads are done. But browser tabs seem not to want to open or come up with an error message. Timed out, could not connect, some such message.
