    Hi,

Just need some advise here. I am using windowsXP and every time after I boot up my pc I can't access internet. Its only after I restart my pc then I can login. I was thinking maybe it can't detect the modem-router on first boot then only after restart only it can detect.

Anyway my ipconfig details on first time boot up is
    Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
    Autoconfiguration IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 169.254.75.45
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :

And after restart when it can logon to internet connection it is:
    Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
    IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.3
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1

Is there anyway I can prevent this restart cause I think I damaged my previous hard disk cause of this constant restarting. I am using modem-router Aztech DSL 600 EU.
    Thanks.

    Post Ipconfig /all
In Network settings, right-click this connection and select "Repair". This should prevent the reboot scenario.
The 169 prefix indicates you're not getting an IP address on the first boot.
