    Hi all,
I have an older Lexmark 5600 multi functional printer and running windows 10, all had been working in this profile for some time but recently (last 3 months) it will not print from the PC.

    The printer will
    • scan a document using Adobe acrobat and convert it to PDF
    • will copy and print a document (using the copy function on the printer)
    The printer will not
    • print any document from any application (error message says the PC cannot communicate with the printer) but it will communicate to scan a document
Any suggestions other then getting a new printer?

    Thanks

At one time Lexmark recommended using Windows 8.1 drivers for some 5600 series printers when using computers running Windows 10. There was a caveat that Microsoft might drop support in future updates to Windows 10.

If you already have the latest Windows 81.1 drivers installed there is a good possibility that Microsoft dropped support for your printer with an update about three months ago.
