Was having an issue with Chrome not being able to access the internet (IE was working fine from the same machine). I tried clearing cookies and cache, to no avail.

I opted to remove Google Chrome entirely, and then try re-installing it, but whatever has the system hosed is preventing me from re-installing Chrome.

Help! I don't want to live in a world without Chrome. :)

What error message are you getting when trying to install Chrome?

"Installation failed due to unspecified error. If Google Chrome is currently running, please close it and try again."

In Task Manager, there is no Google Chrome task running. There are two "Google Installer" tasks and a "Google Update Setup" task. Those 3 tasks go away as soon as I close out the error message (and I've verified that they are not running before I start the download).
