I am unable to reach urls for Google.com, Hgtv.com and petsunlimited.com, so far. Everything else is ok. I am on comcast broad band, running IE 6 with 128 bits encryption, ME operating sys. I have check with Comcast and so far all of their recommendations have been done ( no changes needed, everything checked out). Browser setting are set to default and all temp files deleted. I use Norton Internet Security with Antivirus. I have tried opening the urls after disabling these---no luck. Help! The message I receive is Page not able to be displayed.

Download Hijackthis.
Create a folder on your hard drive and save it there.
Unzip the file and extract it to the folder you have created.
Scan your machine, then click on Save Log.

Post a copy back here and someone will be happy to review it.

Don't make any changes until instructed to do so.

When it's open in notepad hold down the ctrl key and press the A key. Then do the same with ctrl and C, then hit the reply button here in your post, then ctrl and V...That should do it.

I don't see anything bad there. Went to petsunlimited.com, blocked cookie request, it wants me to set up a user account...did you do that?

petsunlimited was a bad example. Once you get to them and set up a user account (I was looking for dog breeders) you can't stop their emails unless you upgrade to some paid status.
a better example is google.com or paturnpike.com ( to veiw my ezpass acct).

Yes, I can reach the site with that link, also by going thru Yahoo. Can't understand it. I think I'm going to call Comcast again and turn the prob. over to them. Don't know what else to do.

Just after I sent the last post, I tried reaching those sites that I couldn't reach before. I reached every one of them right from my comcast homepage. The same place that has caused me fits for the last three wks. Can't explain it but glad it happened. Thanks for the time you spent with me and your help. Some magic happened, thats the only explanation. Ron
