unable to reinstall win98

    when booting my computer this message is displayed: win.com file is corrupted... i do have the win98 CD butthe DOS promt doesnt have d: drive. What I can do. thank you.

    what I would do is get a bootdisk from http://www.24by7.ca/files/boot98se.exe. Downoad it to your desktop. Then format a floppy and with the flopy still in the drive double click on the downloaded file..Wait for that process to continue and finish. Then insert the 98 cd and the floppy in the downed system. Set the bios to boot from A drive and do so. Select "with cdrom support" when prompted. The from the A> prompt type setup to reload windows on top of the current installation.
