I have been sending group emails of up to 120 contacts for several years, about 2-3 weeks ago when I select the Group I just get the circle indicating it is working but it doesn't stop, I can then click on list and all the contacts will be (BCC) in the message, when I send they all bounce back, this happens even with a group with only a few contacts. I opened my Gmail account on my sons machine and the same thing happened. The details of my machine are:

Who is your email provider? Also what is the error code that you get on the bounce message?

    Hi Couriant
I just did some testing messages, using bcc selected a group of 192 the thinking wheel was spinning and didn't stop to indicate it was finished updating
but I selected insert sent the messages and there were no returns, just received a message from a recipient saying message received.
Previously, if I selected insert while still working it would insert addresses but would bounce with the message below,
    My IP is Optus

This is the message I was getting.

OK, it seems to be a custom made one. If you click on learn more does it show any errors, like 550?

I am guessing it's flagging your email as a spammer because you are sending to a lot of people (are most people in your list using bigpond?)

I have been sending these group messages for at least 2 years. We tried opening my Gmail acct on my sons computer and the same thing happened, that is the thinking just kept going. The circle keeps changing Blue Red Yellow & Green. Only 32 of 128 are Big Pond.

OK. Well according to the link, it could be either the email addresses that failed no longer exist (doubtful), G-Mail couldn't connect to the receiving server, (possible), or more than likely this:

"Message flagged as spam" or "Message temporarily rejected"
    Why your message bounced
    • Your message text or links look suspicious.
    • You added a large group of recipients to Cc or Bcc.
    What you can do
    1. Remove links to websites asking for personal information.
    2. If you're emailing a large group, create a group with Google Groups, then email that group.
Find out how to create a group.

I suspect that you are sending to a large group, you got flagged as spam.

    Hi Couriant
I have tried several times to send my normal 120+ group email today and guess what!! is back to normal, although I haven't heard anyone else complaining about this problem, could be as my son conjectured when we opened my Gmail acct on his machine and it did the same thing that it was a glitch in Gmail & they would fix it, who knows, I really don't care now as long as all is back to normal. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into my inquiry, much appreciated

I've removed the attachment in post no. 3 as it revealed someone's email address which you should never post on the Internet.

Sometimes the spam error / blocking can be lifted after 24 hours, but may get flagged again if their systems see more of the same.
