I seem to be having trouble with outlook express I can't view any email attachments in either windows Xp professional and windows 98. I have internet explore 6.0 and outlook express 6. I have tried to repair internet explore and windows Xp. I ran norton and no viruses were found. do you have any suggestions.

    Thanks,
    Bob1010

Just to clarify, you can't open the attachments, or you know there are supposed to be attachments, but they are not there? Is this from all senders, or one specific?

If attachments from a specific person are not there, then they could very well be sending you mail in MS OUtlook Rich Text format. They would need to change the format to HTML or Plain Text.

Please provide a little more information so we can narrow the possible problem down.

I have sent email attachments to myself and they won't open this is what i get. a paper clip icon and OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments, no matter what the attachment is.

I went in to outlook express and unclicked "Do not allow attachments to be saved " and it seems now I can open the attachments. now will norton pick up any infected attachments.

    Thanks ,

Norton's email protection is different than the one that OE has implemented. As long as you have the email check enabled in Norton, there should be no probs!
