Hmm... I'm sure it has to do with the new search engine we just implemented. I'm also sure I can find some way to fix it. :) It might not be tonight, though -- I'm currently getting the new servers ready to take down to the datacenter tomorrow.

The new attachments/images server is a Dual Intel Xeon Gulftown E5620 (Westmere 2.4Ghz, 12M L3) with 12GB of DDR3 ECC RAM. It has four 500GB Western Digital RE3 RAID Edition 7200rpm in a RAID10 and one Western Digital Caviar Black SATA-II 7200rpm for backups. It's totally overkill for our needs, but I don't want to have to replace it for several years. :)

FYI, I just talked to the Floren, the developer of our new search system. He says he's aware of the bug and will have it fixed by early next week. :)

Looks like it is working much better now, not 100%, but what is....

    Thanks Floren.

Nope, this hasn't been fixed yet, but I don't think it will be much longer.

FYI, I just scheduled some time with Floren late on Wednesday evening to hopefully fix this issue. :)

The Find Recent drop down list in the Malware Forum does not appear to be working correctly. The first three categories (the New Only... ones) default to the Advanced Search page.
Is this also related to the current Search issues?

I'll bet that is related -- I'll check on that, too. Because that code is rather custom for our site, ti may take a little more work to get it working, but we will! :)

Well, we installed the new software that was supposed to fix the issue... but it didn't. I expect to hear something back from him this weekend. :)

So it turns out to be a bug in the Sphinx system itself. I'm not sure how long it will take for those guys to sort it out. I'm going to look for a work-around of some kind in the mean time, though. :(
