unexpected boot ups

    I was wondering if anyone can tell me how/why one of my computers would boot up out of the blue....i am running winME. and the computer is hooked to four port router, im running cable internet to it, along w/ three other computers on my home LAN. please let me know if anyone knows anything about this. thanks

    welcome to TSG, danesh

    by "boot up out of the blue..."
    do you mean it turns on when it was off, or restarts?

    if the first - look in the setup program of your BIOS for something to disable like "Wake on Ring" or "Wake on LAN"

    if the second, try running it with the case off, to see if it's heat related

    hi. thank. ill look into the BOIS and check that out.
    it was completly off for about 3 hours then all of a sudden it started up w/out anyone pushing the botton. thanks again.
